ANNOUNCEMENT
We formally announce the retirement of our President and Chief Executive Officer, Reynaldo Cruz Centeno, effective December 31, 2022.
Rey has served at the Generali Life Assurance Philippines Inc. (GLAPI / Generali Philippines) for over six (6) years.
Prior to being named as the President and CEO of GLAPI in 2016, Rey was engaged by Generali Asia as a Senior Adviser in relation to the separation of the Generali Group from its joint venture with a leading local universal bank and the set-up of the new life insurance company of Generali in the Philippines.
“I would like to thank all our policyholders, distribution partners, employees and the Generali Group for their trust and support all these years. As we complete our seventh year in existence, Generali Philippines has tripled in size and is in a much better position to continue its success. I am confident that I am leaving the company to capable leaders who will continue the company’s growth trajectory,” says Rey Centeno.
Rey’s career spanned for 46 years with stints at Social Security System (SSS), leading life insurance, HMO and pre-need companies, to name a few. He was a former President of the Philippine Life Insurance Association (PLIA) and is currently one of the Directors of the association.
Generali Philippines has been blessed with Rey’s leadership. He leaves the organization in solid standing, with programs and systems in place that its management and employees will continue to grow.
As Generali is still in its diligent search of Rey’s successor, we are pleased to announce that Maria Sharon Maranan has been named as Generali Philippines’ Interim President and CEO. This appointment will be effective January 1, 2023.
