CSR, or corporate social responsibility, is perceived as company lip service. That is unsurprising, as companies have long been perceived as only after profit. CSR looks great on paper, but seems so isolated from the greater scheme of things. Experts are finding, however, that strategic and effective CSR can do more – for both companies and consumers. - See if the company’s employees and staff model the company’s core values.
- Understand their mission and vision – their goals should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, and Timely)
- Check for how transparent the company is with their plans, deals, and investments.
- Look at what the company gives to the community, and how.

Generali’s CSR department was first established in 2004. What Generali learned from CSR became part of their strategy to create long-term value for its partners, investors, and customers.
In the Philippines, Generali held medical missions for some communities in Batangas and Cebu Province.
